Just a heads up to let you know that today (at last!) is the official release date for our long delayed disc of Jess Franco’s notorious film LORNA THE EXORCIST. Copies should be in the shops now and are available online.

It’s been a long, hard road to get this one to market, but one we’re happy to have walked. The final film, reconstructed from a number of different sources, including the rare original negative, is now nearly 100 minutes long and contains footage not seen in any previous video version. In fact, we’d go so far as to say that much of this footage has not been seen by anyone since the film first played movie theatres some 37 years ago in its very brief initial release.

The disc features English and French audio tracks with newly created English subtitles. The extras include a profile of Franco by author and musician Stephen Thrower as well as Stephen’s insightful analysis of LORNA itself, alongside an essential interview with editor Gerard Kikoine who worked on many Franco films from this period.

Seen now in its full glory, LORNA THE EXORCIST is finally revealed as one of Jess Franco’s wildest and most subversive films. An experience not to be missed.

The beautiful Countess Martine de Bressac is released from the expensive asylum where she was incarcerated after castrating her former lover. She returns to her luxurious villa on the coast and goes at once down into her private underground dungeon.
